Dear Lord,

On this Labor Day, we give thanks for the opportunities and benefits of work.  We thank you for the chances we have to gain skills, to learn and explore the world through our vocations, to provide for ourselves and our families.  We thank you too for those who are laboring to prepare to lead us in the study of  The Story.

On this day, we also pray for those who are without a job or who are images (5)struggling at work.  Strengthen and guide them.  And then remind us all that whatever we do, you call us to be laborers in your field.   Amen

Scriptureimages (2)

I  planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.  So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.   The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.  For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.    – 1 Cor. 3:6-9
