stone corridorScripture – Luke 19: 1-4

[Jesus] entered Jericho and was passing through it.  2 A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich.  3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way.

Dear Lord,

We are all short in stature in one way or another, so what must we do to catch a glimpse of you today?  Perhaps we could see you if we pause our day to read of you in holy scripture.  Or perhaps we might see you if we call or visit someone we know who is alone or in need of a cheerful word.   Or perhaps we would see you by offering a kindness to a total stranger.  Or perhaps we’ll see you in the midst of prayer.

Whichever way, help us to see you today Lord as you pass by.
